Majority of Filipinos Reluctant to Receive Covid-19 Vaccine

A survey by Octa Research Group said that 46% of Filipinos responded with “I will not have myself vaccinated” against the coronavirus if a safe and effective vaccine was available. 19% of Filipinos said they would have themselves vaccinated, and 35% responded with “can’t say” about receiving vaccines.

The survey was conducted from January 26 to February 1, 2021, via face-to-face interviews with 1,200 Filipinos, aged 18 and over. The survey results have a 95% confidence level with a 3% margin of error.

 

The top 3 reasons among Filipinos unwilling to get vaccinated are:

“Not sure if it is safe” (73%)

“Not sure if vaccine is effective” (29%)

“A vaccine is not needed to combat COVID-19” (9%)

 

The most trusted vaccines by the country origin of the manufacturer are:

United States (41%)

United Kingdom (25%)

Russia (20%)

India (17%)

China (15%)
