Growing Importance: Recent McKinsey survey findings highlight the escalating significance of GenAI in business. About 80 percent of tech sector respondents are familiar with GenAI, with 40 percent planning to increase their investments in the next few years. These investments are anticipated to yield improved productivity, cost optimization, and enhanced business continuity.
Productivity Boost for Contact Centers: An MIT Sloan study revealed that using conversational AI assistants in contact centers can enhance productivity by 14 percent, particularly benefiting newer or less-skilled workers.
Comprehensive Strategies for AI Integration
AI-Driven World Challenges and Opportunities: IBPAP recognizes the dual nature of GenAI as both a challenge and opportunity. Their approach includes responsibly harnessing AI’s power through collaboration, training investments, innovation promotion, and advocacy for supportive policies.
Establishment of AI Council: Addressing the disruptive potential of GenAI, the sector has formed an AI Council. This council aims to collaborate with learning academies and industry associations to enhance workforce skills in programming, data science, data analytics, and AI ethics.
Upskilling and Reskilling Initiatives: In partnership with entities like Cirrolytix, LinkedIn, StackTrek, and the Analytics & Artificial Intelligence Association of the Philippines, IBPAP is implementing programs for skill enhancement in data analysis, machine learning, animation, cybersecurity, and AI ethics and governance. This collaboration extends to government agencies like the Department of Information and Communications Technology and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
Dynamic Public-Private Collaboration: To ensure the industry’s professionals are well-equipped for lifelong learning and adapting to evolving professional demands, there’s a concerted effort in creating and implementing talent programs and career roadmaps.
The Philippine IT-BPM sector’s strategic integration of AI underscores its commitment to maintaining competitiveness in the global BPO industry. By embracing AI-driven innovations and investing in human capital development, the sector is poised to achieve new heights of productivity and efficiency.
