Accenture Champions Inclusivity with High-Tech Tools for Employees with Disabilities

Furthering their support for hearing-impaired employees, the company has launched the “Inclusive Virtual Experience for Everyone” app. This application, used alongside a virtual reality headset, is capable of converting speech to text or sign language, and vice versa, thus enabling better communication.

These latest tools complement the existing assistive technologies at Accenture, such as color contrast and Braille-stickered keyboards, wheelchairs, and software that converts voice responses into typed text during calls. Additionally, Accenture focuses on mental health support through its partnership with iTalk, offering 24/7 counseling services. They also provide apps on their Microsoft Teams platform that enable employees to listen to calming sounds while working.

Accenture’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in their workforce, with over 3% of their Philippine employees being persons with disabilities (PWDs). Rudy Guiao, Accenture’s Inclusion and Diversity Lead for Global Infrastructure Shared Services, emphasizes the company’s ongoing dedication to providing equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender or disability, celebrating the unique contributions of each individual.
