Vincent Trinidad, an introverted artist with a deep passion for Japanese culture and ramen, has transformed his interests into a flourishing business, “Ramen Wave.” Recognizing his preference for solitude, especially accentuated during the pandemic when dining spaces were partitioned, Trinidad devised a unique dining concept that caters to like-minded individuals seeking a private meal experience.

Featured on the program “Pera Paraan,” Ramen Wave stands out with its focused cubicles, ensuring diners can enjoy their ramen without the discomfort of close proximity to strangers. Trinidad’s personal experiences and his self-consciousness in traditional dining setups fueled this innovative approach.

The business, strategically located near a commercial area, began as an embodiment of Trinidad’s passion. His artworks and travels to Japan significantly influenced Ramen Wave’s concept, with every detail reflecting his deep-rooted love for ramen and the Japanese culture.

Launching in 2021 with just eight cubicles, the restaurant quickly captured the hearts of customers and attention of vloggers, propelling it to viral status. The success was so immense that waiting times extended to two hours, attracting patrons from as far as Tagaytay. Ramen Wave’s popularity led to the establishment of two branches in Marikina and Pasig, offering not only ramen but also other Japanese delicacies like tempura, gyoza, and chicken karaage.

Beyond the culinary success, Ramen Wave holds a more profound significance for Trinidad. The business has been a means to fulfill a heartfelt promise to his late mother, providing employment for his sister, who is a person with disabilities (PWD), and supporting his family of seven siblings. Moved by his mother’s early passing, Trinidad views Ramen Wave as a mission to help and give back, a commitment that has brought both emotional and financial rewards.
