The government recently ordered a one-week extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the areas under NCR Plus namely Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal. Only essential travel has been allowed in and out of Metro Manila.
In light of this extension, Cebu Pacific has canceled select flights that were scheduled within the week.
Cebu Pacific flights to areas in Region 6 have also been canceled after the request of the local government of Western Visayas to temporarily suspend the acceptance of incoming passengers until April 10 was approved by the national government.
Clients who have been affected by these cancellations can choose to rebook, place their balance in a travel fund, or ask for a refund. The refunding process may take up to seven months due to the high number of refund requests.
Other Cebu Pacific domestic and international flights not directly affected by the aforementioned circumstances will continue to operate. Regardless, the airline advised its passengers to check the real-time status of flights on its website before leaving for the airport.
“This is a developing situation. We may adjust flights depending on government regulations. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available,” Cebu Pacific said.
