Marcos Highlights P10B Investment in Calabarzon Development from 2023 to 2024

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced on Thursday that P10 billion has been allocated to the Philippine Rural Development Plan for Region IV-A (Calabarzon) from 2023 to 2024.

“Aside from the aid and services, we continue to exert efforts to strengthen the economy of Calabarzon,” Marcos stated during a distribution event of presidential assistance to farmers, fisherfolk, and families in Batangas.

He highlighted ongoing regional projects, including the Taal Lake Circumferential Road, Lobo Malabrigo – San Juan Laiya Road in Batangas, and Quipot and Macalelon Irrigation Projects in Quezon.

At the FPJ Arena in San Jose, Marcos distributed P10,000 each to 30 beneficiaries from Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon, and provided financial aid to the provincial governments: P24,040,000 for Batangas, P17,420,000 for Laguna, and P28,810,000 for Quezon.

Various government agencies also contributed farm machinery, equipment, fiber boats, seeds, and fishing cages under the Department of Agriculture’s programs.

Marcos noted the nearing completion of the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension Project, and ongoing work on the Cavite-Laguna Expressway-Cavite Segment and South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 4, aiming to ease commuter travel.

Additionally, the Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project was mentioned as a key initiative to address flooding.

Financial aid was also given to Cavite and Rizal provinces, amounting to P12,360,000 and P14,510,000, respectively, along with P10,000 in cash assistance to ten beneficiaries from each province.
