On Wednesday, June 17, Everise released a statement saying that it would be hiring 2,000 workers designed to work from home in the Philippines. This mass-hiring would be a substantial addition to the Singapore-based firm’s current workforce of 3,000 in Philippines, and 12,000 globally. This comes at a time of severe unemployment in the Philippines, with unemployment reaching a record 17.7% in April and a recorded 7.3 million Filipinos jobless.
CEO and founder of Everise, Sudhir Agarwal said “the operational metrics point to us having an appetite for growth, and as such we are poised for strong recovery post-Covid-19 and the necessary restrictions on movement.”
Agarwal added, “we are exceedingly grateful that due to this foresight, we have not only been disrupted by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, but we’ve been able to step in where other companies could not continue to support their customers.”
