Cebu Pacific Acquires AirSWIFT in P1.75-Billion Deal to Expand Domestic Routes

MANILA — Cebu Pacific, the Gokongwei-owned budget airline, has signed a P1.75-billion share purchase agreement with ALI Capital Corp. to acquire AirSWIFT Transport Inc., a boutique airline known for its routes to popular tourist destinations like El Nido, Palawan.

Cebu Pacific stated that AirSWIFT’s current flight schedules will remain unchanged. With this acquisition, Cebu Pacific will add El Nido to its list of destinations, increasing accessibility to this renowned beach destination. The airline currently serves 35 domestic and 26 international routes, and it recently secured a P1.4-trillion aircraft purchase deal to expand its fleet.

“We are committed to boosting connectivity to more Philippine destinations, supporting tourism, and offering affordable fares,” said Cebu Pacific President Xander Lao. ALI Capital, a subsidiary of Ayala Land Inc., said the sale allows them to focus on their core real estate business while supporting tourism growth in El Nido through Cebu Pacific’s expanded network.
