LIST: Banks Temporarily Close Due to Tropical Storm Kristine

Several banks in the Philippines have temporarily closed select branches on Wednesday, October 23, due to the severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami). Despite the closures, automated teller machines (ATMs) and online banking services remain accessible.

Below is a list of banks that have released advisories regarding branch closures:

  • Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI):
    Select branches temporarily closed, but online and mobile banking channels remain available.
  • BDO Unibank:
    Select branches temporarily closed, with BDO Pay, the BDO Online App, and ATMs still operational.
  • Land Bank of the Philippines:
    Some branches temporarily closed, while others are operating on shortened hours.
  • Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank):
    Select branches temporarily closed, but ATM and CAM services, Metrobank Online, and the Metrobank App remain accessible.
  • Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC):
    Select branches temporarily closed, but the RCBC Pulz platform remains available.

As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 in 31 areas of Luzon as Tropical Storm Kristine continues to intensify. The storm is currently 200 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness reaching up to 105 kph, moving at 30 kph toward Isabela.
