More than 500,000 customers of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) have experienced power interruptions due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. As of 8 a.m. on October 24, Meralco reported that around 535,000 customers, mostly in Cavite and Laguna, have been affected.
Other affected areas include parts of Rizal, Quezon, Batangas, Metro Manila, and Bulacan.
Meralco advised customers to prioritize safety during the storm, offering tips such as turning off main power switches, unplugging appliances, and ensuring that all electrical equipment is dry before use. The company also assured the public that crews are working non-stop to restore services as soon as possible.
For power outage reports or concerns, customers can contact Meralco via social media, text, or hotline numbers.
