Fuel Price Adjustments Next Week: Gasoline Rollback, Diesel May See Slight Cut

Manila, Philippines – Motorists can anticipate a mixed bag of fuel price adjustments next week, with industry projections suggesting a potential rollback for gasoline, while diesel prices may remain unchanged or decrease slightly, according to the Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau.

The estimated fuel price changes for the week are as follows:

  • Gasoline: Rollback of PHP 0.40 to PHP 0.70 per liter
  • Diesel: No adjustment or rollback of PHP 0.20 per liter
  • Kerosene: Increase of PHP 0.10 to PHP 0.20 per liter

These adjustments are based on four days of international trading data, with DOE Assistant Director Rodela Romero highlighting factors like ongoing diplomatic efforts in the Middle East that could ease global tensions. However, increased U.S. fuel demand and tighter supplies in Asia could still drive upward price pressure on some fuel types.

The official fuel price adjustments will be announced by fuel companies on Monday, taking effect on Tuesday.

To date, the cumulative price adjustments in 2024 stand at a net increase of PHP 8.75 per liter for gasoline and PHP 6.55 per liter for diesel, with kerosene seeing a total net decrease of PHP 3.10 per liter.
