Philippines’ IT-BPO Industry Confident in Growth Despite US Election Outcome

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) remains optimistic about the continued growth of the industry, regardless of the outcome of the US presidential election between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

IBPAP Chief Operating Officer Celeste Ilagan stated that the organization has not received any election-related concerns from its American members, emphasizing the stability and consistent growth of IT-BPO operations in the Philippines regardless of shifts in US administration. “Through the years, they have always operated as well as they always have and have expanded in the Philippines,” Ilagan said.

With over 78 million Americans voting early ahead of the November 5 election, the US is witnessing a high level of engagement. However, Ilagan noted that the Philippine IT-BPO sector’s growth trajectory remains strong, with ambitious targets for employment and export revenue.

For 2024, IBPAP anticipates revenues of $38 billion and a workforce of 1.82 million, building on the previous year’s achievements of a 1.7-million workforce and $35.49 billion in revenue.
