Gasoline Price Increase, Diesel Rollback Expected Next Week

Motorists should prepare for another adjustment in fuel prices next week, with an expected increase in gasoline prices and a potential rollback for diesel and kerosene.

Expected Price Adjustments:

  • Gasoline: Increase of ₱0.55 to ₱0.80 per liter
  • Diesel: No change or rollback of up to ₱0.30 per liter
  • Kerosene: Rollback of ₱0.10 to ₱0.30 per liter

The estimates are based on international oil trading data over the past four days.

Factors Behind Price Movements:
For Price Rollbacks

  • Lower crude prices due to a US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, raising hopes for regional stability.
  • Declining fuel consumption in China.

For Price Increases

  • OPEC+ plans to maintain production cuts, with gradual easing potentially beginning in April 2025.
  • A surprising drop in US crude inventories, driving up oil prices.

Current Trends
Fuel retailers adjust prices every Tuesday. On November 26, gasoline prices rose by ₱1.15 per liter, diesel by ₱1.10 per liter, and kerosene by ₱0.80 per liter.

Year-to-date price movements reflect:

  • Gasoline: Net increase of ₱10.45 per liter
  • Diesel: Net increase of ₱9.75 per liter
  • Kerosene: Net decrease of ₱1.50 per liter
