The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has confiscated 44 allegedly smuggled luxury cars worth ₱900 million from a warehouse in Taguig City.
The seized vehicles include Ferraris, Porsches, Maseratis, Rolls Royces, McLarens, Lamborghinis, and Mercedes-Benz models, among others.
Customs Commissioner Bien Rubio stated that this latest seizure adds to billions of pesos worth of smuggled luxury cars intercepted in recent operations.
“The BOC’s intelligence unit remains on high alert against smuggling, and this operation exposes underground businesses exploiting the demand for high-end vehicles,” Rubio said.
The raid, conducted at a car shop on Levi Mariano Avenue, Barangay Ususan, was the third in Metro Manila, following similar operations in Parañaque, Pasay, and Makati.
BOC agents issued a Letter of Authority (LOA) to the shop owner, requiring proof that all duties and taxes had been properly paid. The owners have 15 days to submit documents, or they may face charges under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
