Metro Pacific Fresh Farms (MPFF), a partnership between Metro Pacific Agro Ventures (MPAV) and Israel’s LR Group, has inaugurated its 3.5-hectare high-tech greenhouse facility in San Rafael, Bulacan—with plans already underway to double its size.
The P800-million farm currently produces up to 500 metric tons of vegetables annually, including 60,000 heads of lettuce each month. MPAV CEO Jovy Hernandez confirmed that MPFF will expand the facility to seven hectares by the second half of 2026, as directed by Metro Pacific Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan. The expansion is expected to cost less than the initial investment due to existing infrastructure.
Operating under the “MVP” (More Veggies Please) brand, MPFF supplies premium crops like lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers to hotels, food processors, and hypermarkets.
The greenhouse—built with LR Group’s advanced agricultural tech—uses 90% less land and water, yet yields five times more produce than traditional farms. This innovation supports year-round supply and sustainable food security.
Looking ahead, MPFF plans to set up at least 10 more satellite greenhouse farms across the country within the next five years.
Pangilinan emphasized that the bigger vision is to move toward “an agriculturally independent Philippines.”
