BIR Files P8.7B Tax Evasion Case Against Vape Brands Flava, Denkat, Flare

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed criminal charges against vape companies Flava, Denkat, and Flare for allegedly evading nearly ₱8.7 billion in taxes. The charges, filed with the Department of Justice, include unlawful possession of untaxed vape products, failure to file excise tax returns, and tax evasion under the National Internal Revenue Code.

BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. stressed that all vape businesses must register and comply with tax obligations, warning of further legal action against both large and small illicit vape operators. He also cautioned celebrities and influencers who promote unregistered vape brands that they too could face legal consequences.
