Ferrari has unveiled two new hybrid models—the 296 Speciale and its convertible version—marking a powerful update to its hybrid lineup as the Italian luxury automaker prepares to debut its first electric vehicle this October.
Presented at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters, the 296 Speciale builds on the 2021 Ferrari 296 platform, boasting enhanced aerodynamics, reduced weight, and heightened performance. With a 3.0-liter V6 engine delivering 700 horsepower, and an additional 180 horsepower from its electric motor, this plug-in hybrid is engineered for elite driving experiences.
“These models aren’t for everyone,” said Chief Marketing Officer Enrico Galliera. “They’re built for long-time Ferrari enthusiasts seeking unmatched driving thrill.”
Pricing starts at €407,000 ($449,000) in Italy, with the convertible priced at €462,000. U.S. prices will be higher due to recent tariff-related price adjustments. Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2026, with convertible variants following in the second quarter.
While not part of a limited edition, the Speciale’s exclusivity will be maintained by a shortened life cycle. Priority for pre-orders goes to clients who’ve engaged with Ferrari dealerships in the past five years.
Ferrari’s first fully electric model will be revealed on October 9. Despite this EV milestone, Ferrari will continue offering hybrid and petrol-powered vehicles alongside its electric offerings, with six new models planned for release this year.
