Meralco Reports Stable Power Supply During Eleksyon 2025

Meralco confirmed that the electricity supply during the 2025 Philippine midterm elections remained “generally stable” across its franchise areas, with no major service interruptions.

In a statement, Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga said power remained uninterrupted at over 3,000 polling and canvassing centers on May 12, ensuring a smooth voting process.

“Any minor issues were swiftly addressed by our crews and did not affect election activities,” Zaldarriaga said. He added that Meralco remains on 24/7 standby until all winning candidates are officially proclaimed.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) also reported stable operations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao throughout the polling period.

Zaldarriaga also reminded the public to practice energy-saving habits amid the ongoing hot dry season, such as:

• Cleaning air conditioner filters and fan blades regularly

• Ironing clothes in bulk

• Avoiding overfilling refrigerators

• Switching to LED lighting for energy efficiency
