DTI Releases Updated 2025 Price Guide for School Supplies Ahead of New School Year

With the new school year starting this June, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has published its 2025 price guide for school supplies, helping parents and students find affordable back-to-school essentials.

The guide covers 195 stock keeping units (SKUs) across 12 categories. This year, 29 items saw price cuts compared to 2024, with reductions ranging from ₱1.00 to ₱10.00.

Notebook prices dropped by ₱5.00 to ₱10.00, now costing ₱15.00 to ₱52.00. Pad paper is cheaper by ₱1.00 to ₱6.00 and ranges from ₱15.00 to ₱48.75. Pencils are now priced at ₱11.00 to ₱24.00—₱5.00 less than before.

Ballpens, sharpeners, and erasers maintain last year’s prices. Pens range from ₱3.00 to ₱33.00, sharpeners from ₱15.00 to ₱69.00, and erasers from ₱4.50 to ₱20.00. Crayons are priced from ₱12.00 to ₱114.00, and rulers range from ₱16.00 to ₱39.00.

DTI advises consumers to carefully check product labels, including the number of leaves in notebooks and pad papers, to ensure they get the best value.

“This price guide ensures every Filipino learner starts the school year with dignity and readiness,” said Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to inclusive education.
