Smart Partners with MPTC Allowing RFID Top-ups through Mobile Load

Smart and TNT subscribers will be able to top-up their Easytrip RFID balance using mobile load after Smart Communications Inc. entered into a partnership with Metro Pacific Tollways (MPTC).

Mobile load top-ups are expected to launch on May 6. Users will simply need to send EASY[DENOM]<SPACE>[12-DIGIT RFID ACCOUNT NUMBER] to 3279 through text message to reload their RFID. Available amounts for reloading are P100, P300, P500, and P1,000.

For prepaid users, the top-up amount will be deducted from their prepaid balance while postpaid users will be charged on their monthly bill. Every successful transaction will be notified via text message, said Smart.

“Many of us rely on our mobile phones for crucial information and services, so we are glad to team up with Smart to introduce another hassle-free way for users to top up their Easytrip RFID accounts with their Smart or TNT mobile load through a simple message,” explains MPTC president and CEO Rodrigo Franco.

“This way, they may enjoy a smoother and safer journey on our tollways without worrying about not having enough Easytrip load,” he added.

Easytrip RFID cards can primarily be used on the following toll roads: North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), and C-5 South Link Expressway.
