Shakey’s Meatless Options Expanded with the Launch of “Good Nuggets”

On Tuesday, Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. officially announced the launch of its plant-based nuggets in its effort to stay in line with its strategies to shift into sustainability.

The prominent restaurant operator markets them as the “Good Nuggets” which look and taste exactly like any other chicken nuggets while still being “completely meat-free,” said Shakey’s.

Over the past year, it can be recalled that Shakey’s also introduced plant-based burgers into their menu. These were likewise called the “Good Burger.”

These Good Nuggets are, of course, packed with plant-based protein making them a healthier alternative. Moreover, the process of cooking them is also considered to be a lot more environmentally friendly because they are baked instead of fried.

“As we carry on our path to recovery from this pandemic, we remain steadfast in our commitment to wow our stakeholders by becoming a more responsible food company. We will continue to integrate sustainability into our business and boost our efforts in areas that will add value to our guests and stakeholders, our Company, and the communities we serve,” explained Shakey’s Pizza president and CEO of Vicente Gregorio.

Shakey’s partnered with the local brand unMeat — under Century Pacific Food Inc. — which offers a wide variety of plant-based food products.

The Good Nuggets will be available for ₱179.
