Cebu Pacific in Favor of Waiving Swab Tests for Fully Vaccinated Passengers

Cebu Pacific, one of the country’s budget airlines, recently expressed that it was in favor of the government’s plans to discard swab tests as a requirement for fully vaccinated passengers.

However, certain local government units may have other particular travel requirements before accepting any incoming visitors. The airlines reminded travelers to always look into the guidelines of their destinations before booking a flight.

“We are in full support of these guidelines. Right now, we are waiting for local government units that will issue their respective Executive Orders adopting the IATF Resolution 124-B and look forward to welcoming more passengers on board,” explained Cebu Pac’s Chief Strategy Officer Alex Reyes.

Some of the local destinations that are expected to adopt the national government’s new travel protocols include Bacolod, Cauayan of Isabela, Tacloban, and Cotabato.

“We believe this is an opportunity for all stakeholders to collaborate as we work toward the same goal – and that is to safely reopen domestic travel again,” he added.

An individual will be considered fully vaccinated if two or more weeks have passed since they’ve received their final jab of a COVID-19 vaccine, whether it’s a two-dose or single-dose vaccine.

Additionally, the airline also encourages passengers to take part in an efficient contact tracing process whenever they travel by registering on the Department of Transportation’s Traze App.
