IMG SOURCE: Allure

The Department of Trade and Industry (DOTI) said on Tuesday that the government will soon allow beauty salons, barbershops, and restaurants to take in more customers as the Philippines eases quarantine restrictions.

Ramon Lopez, Trade Secretary said that starting July 16 salons and barbershops in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity from 30%. While salons and barbershops under the more relaxed modified GCQ will be allowed to operate at 75% capacity from 50%.

These services will also be allowed to increase their range of services, from only being allowed to provide simple haircuts.

Lopez added that restaurants will be allowed the same ease of operations in the same areas as beauty salons and barbershops, starting July 21.

He also called for local government units to raise curfew from 10PM to midnight, to further bolster economic activity.

On July 15, President Duterte is scheduled to release a new set of classifications for community quarantine measures.
