No Water Disconnections During Incoming Lockdown

On August 4, Manila Water and Maynilad Water Services were ordered by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS RO) to suspend disconnection services in areas caught under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Additionally, the MWSS RO also urged the water concessionaires to ensure the availability of water supply during the 2-week strict lockdown. Both Manila Water and Maynilad have since announced their compliance with the directive.

The local government units (LGUs) of Metro Manila, Rizal, and Cavite have likewise been advised by the MWSS RO to allow on-site meter readings of as well as billing operations amidst the looming ECQ.
