Philippine telecommunications giant, PLDT, predicts that its corporate business segment will be the main driver for growth in the coming years.
“We see the enterprise business as a growth driver in our business,” PLDT chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said.
“Apart from the continued growth in basic connectivity and data centers, we are optimistic on the hyperscalers market and on offering solutions to more businesses, large and MSMEs.”
The enterprise is set to finish the year strong with double-digit growth in ICT revenue streams as it supports key industries in the country. Both data center and cloud revenues have seen significant milestones as they have both become a multi-billion revenue stream for the PLDT Group.
To boost the country’s position as an attractive destination for ICT, PLDT has announced its plan to build the largest data center in the Philippines. Additionally, the group also strives for aggressive international expansion with investments in the Jupiter and Apricot cable system capacities.
“There’s greater awareness among LGUs about the importance of establishing smart cities in their location. A good example of this is what we’ve done in the province of Cavite where we’ve deployed significant fiberization for the entire province – that’s a peg or a model for other LGUs to follow,” Pangilinan said.
In 2022, PLDT Enterprise plans to launch several products and solutions to deliver the increased connectivity needs of companies implementing hybrid work arrangements. To accomplish this, the company will unveil its new Smart Bro promo that will provide enterprise-grade 5G wireless connectivity to businesses.
