Manny Villar remains Richest man in the PH in Forbes’ 2021 Billionaires List

Forbes has recently released their World’s Billionaires list for 2022, and among the newcomers are Monde Nissin president Betty Ang and Converge ICT Solutions’ Grace and Dennis Anthony Uy.

Ang was placed at the 2,324th spot out of 2,668 with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion as Monde Nissin’s initial public offering of $1.1 billion propelled her up the list. Furthermore, the Converge power couple of Grace and Dennis Uy rank 2,324th and 2,578, respectively.

The Genomal brothers are currently tied with Dennis Uy at the 2,578th spot as Nari, Ramesh, and Sunder Genomal each boast a net worth of $1 billion. The brothers obtained their wealth through Page Industries, the Philippine licensee for underwear maker Jockey, and also the exclusive Indian licensee of swimwear brand Speedo.

At present, the richest man in the Philippines is real estate tycoon and ex-politician, Manny Villar as he ranks 263rd on the Forbes list with a net worth of $8.3 billion.

The list includes 2,668 billionaires, 87 fewer than the year before, with a collective net worth of about $12.7 trillion, $400 billion less than in 2021.

The United States remains the country with the most number of billionaires with 735, as Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk tops the list with a net worth of $219 billion, replacing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos who’s worth about $171 billion.
