TaskUs Inc., a US-based business process outsourcing (BPO) company handling content moderation for popular companies like Facebook and Doordash is planning for 70% of its PH employees to return to office (RTO) operations by the end of July. According to the company in a statement issued last Wednesday, their RTO plans will be conducted “in phases” while still being mindful of “prioritizing the needs and demands of our teammates and clients.”

TaskUs Phoenix Ortigas Site’s Vice President Kris Mandap says, “50 percent are fine RTO-ing, and then there’s a good fraction of 10 to 15 percent that would say that ‘hey you know I can work on-site but I have concerns’ and then you have the rest of the population say ‘hey work from home works for me,’” and notes the company should be able to give their employees some leeway to address their concerns regarding their work set-up adjustments.

TaskUs has also commented on the need for adjustment in their work arrangements due to the very collaborative nature of their work, which calls for the majority’s RTO. “Due to the nature of our work, we will need to bring the majority of our workforce back to our sites. Our sites are designed to foster collaboration and we believe that we work better when teams are together,” the company states. Mandap also says, “If we need to RTO people because of requirements, we give them 30 days so that we can also address some of those concerns that they have, like make sure that the site has the capacity.”

As of now, TaskUs has reiterated their strong commitment on their “people-first” promise, currently in a staggered RTO status. The company has also stated not rushing for full RTO operations at present as they “prioritize health and well-being”.

TaskUs’s offices are located in nine areas across the Philippines, with the majority of its offices in the non-Metro areas such as La Union, Bulacan, Bohol, Pampanga, Antipolo, and Batangas.
