Aboitiz InfraCapital Unveils P4.53-B Investment for Bohol-Panglao Airport Modernization

Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC) will officially take over operations and management of the Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) this June under a 30-year concession agreement, with a P4.53-billion investment plan set in motion.

AIC’s modernization program includes expanding the passenger terminal, upgrading aviation systems, and enhancing both airside and landside facilities. These improvements aim to increase the airport’s capacity from the current two million passengers per year to 2.5 million within two years. By 2030, capacity is projected to rise to 3.9 million.

This initiative, part of AIC’s growing airport portfolio, is designed to bolster Bohol’s status as a premier tourism and economic destination in the Visayas. AIC currently operates Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental.

“This isn’t just an infrastructure upgrade—it’s about boosting Bohol’s regional growth and tourism potential,” said AIC President and CEO Cosette Canilao.
