After two decades, Air France has resumed its direct flights between Manila and Paris, marking a significant milestone in aviation and tourism.
The inaugural flight departed from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at 9:50 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2024, and arrived at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport at 5:50 AM the following day.
A send-off ceremony attended by Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, French Ambassador Marie Fontanel, and New Naia Infra Corp. (NNIC) General Manager Lito Alvarez commemorated the momentous occasion.
Air France’s Manila-Paris route will operate thrice a week:
French Ambassador Fontanel emphasized the high demand for the route, describing it as a “Christmas wish” for both Filipino and French travelers.
“Having this direct flight is a request, a Christmas wish for many Filipinos and French partners,” she said.
She also noted the anticipated increase in visa applications, adding that the French Embassy is prepared to accommodate the rising demand.
The revival of the Manila-Paris route strengthens ties between the Philippines and France, providing convenient travel options for leisure and business. It also supports the Department of Tourism’s efforts to attract more international visitors.
