Ford Bronco Outer Banks with Sasquatch Package
The all-new Ford Bronco Outer Banks with the Sasquatch Package proves that it doesn’t need much time to hit top speed. On the long, often deserted TPLEx highway, the Bronco effortlessly cruised, making it easy to lose track of the 100 kph speed limit.
Its stability was impressive, even as the digital speedometer climbed higher. For an SUV this size—10.5 inches wider than the Ford Everest—the smooth ride was surprising. This behemoth of a vehicle felt like a fast, stable tank, comfortably reaching speeds of 140 kph.
Of course, the Bronco carries its own legendary status in global pop culture, but this particular unit was a showstopper. Its rugged, boxy build paired with the stunning Eruption Green color turned heads everywhere, garnering admiration from both motorists and pedestrians.
Built for Versatility
The Ford Bronco’s off-road heritage is undeniable. This model comes equipped with G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) modes, offering options like Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Sand/Snow, Baja, Mud/Ruts, and Rock Crawl. With a simple turn of the dial, the Bronco adjusts its suspension, transmission, traction, and throttle to tackle virtually any terrain.
Unfortunately, this test drive didn’t venture into challenging off-road conditions. The toughest obstacle was the gravel-laden stretch at the end of the Lagangilang Bridge in Abra—an area still recovering from a magnitude 7.0 earthquake in July 2022.
The Bronco also boasts a detachable hard top and doors, a signature feature for adventurous drivers. While this wasn’t tested, removing these panels promises an action-movie-worthy experience on rugged trails. However, detaching the roof and doors isn’t a one-person job, and limited access to rocky riverbeds during the drive left this feature unexplored.
Performance and Features
Under the hood, the Bronco Sasquatch Package sports a powerful 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Upgraded features include 35-inch mud-terrain tires, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, high-clearance fender flares, and Bilstein position-sensitive shock absorbers that enhance its smooth ride.
Inside, the Bronco combines practicality with technology. Its straightforward 12-inch touchscreen dashboard integrates Ford Co-Pilot 360 features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system. A premium 10-speaker sound system with subwoofers ensures a great in-car experience, easily paired with any smartphone.
While the window controls, placed on the center console due to the detachable doors, take some getting used to, the Bronco’s charm remains intact.
Street and Trail Cred
With its striking looks, cutting-edge features, and undeniable versatility, the Ford Bronco Outer Banks Sasquatch Package is a beauty for city streets and a beast for off-road adventures. Priced at P4,998,000, it’s a top-tier choice for those seeking both luxury and rugged capability.
