A recent partnership between the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham) and the SM Group aims to enhance the skills of Filipino workers and improve job matching processes.

AmCham has joined SM Group’s Job Opportunities Building Skills (J.O.B.S.) advocacy to provide upskilling opportunities to thousands of employees within the AmCham network.

Ebb Hinchliffe, AmCham’s Executive Director, emphasized the importance of upskilling for business sustainability, stating that the SM J.O.B.S. advocacy provides a dual approach to empowering Filipino workers and offering nationwide opportunities.
Tessie Sy-Coson, SM Investments Corp. Vice Chairperson, and J.O.B.S. project lead, highlighted the continuous effort to hold job fairs and create job opportunities matching the right skills with talents. The SM Group, through its advocacy, also provides micro-credential training and short courses developed in partnership with Asia Pacific College and the National University.
The SM Group, in collaboration with government agencies and industry groups, remains committed to hosting job fairs in its malls and rolling out programs that ensure the local workforce is equipped with relevant skills for the future.
