Scarlet Snow Belo, the eight-year-old daughter of famous Filipino personalities Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, has demonstrated remarkable artistic talent. Her drawings were recently displayed at the Parola Gallery in the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, Diliman, Quezon City. This exhibition, titled “Pencils and Progress,” featured two of Scarlet’s works that she created last year when she was seven. Among these, she presented an impressive pencil drawing of an eagle and a colored drawing of a Pokémon character, showcasing her diverse artistic abilities.
Scarlet, a big fan of Pokémon, has displayed her penchant for art at a young age. Alongside her enthusiasm for art, Scarlet also has interests in singing, dancing, writing, and fashion, indicating a well-rounded inclination towards creative expression. This exhibition not only highlights her individual talent but also underscores the importance of nurturing artistic skills in young children.
Her participation in the “Pencils and Progress” Student Art exhibit at U.P.’s Fine Arts Parola Gallery is a significant achievement, especially considering her young age. She has thanked her art teacher, Cathy Ongteco, for guiding her in her artistic journey, as well as her parents for their unwavering support.
