Balai ni Fruitas Inc., a prominent bakery chain under the helm of Lester Yu, has reported an impressive 58% increase in its 2023 earnings, reaching P59 million. This growth is attributed to its strategic expansion and the successful opening of new stores across the Philippines, pushing its retail network to 118 outlets. The company, part of Fruitas Holdings Inc., also experienced a significant 57% surge in revenues, amounting to P535 million compared to the previous year’s P341 million.

The company’s financial success extends to its EBITDA, which saw a 59% increase to P109 million, highlighting the efficiency and profitability of its operations. This financial year marked a milestone for Balai ni Fruitas, surpassing the 100-store mark, a testament to its growing customer base and enhanced product offerings.

The expansion into provincial areas is seen as a key driver for future growth, with the company making headway in untapped markets. The increase in revenue is largely due to repeat business at Balai Pandesal locations, indicating strong brand loyalty and customer satisfaction. New product introductions and collaborations with third-party vendors have enriched the company’s offerings, attracting a broader customer base.

Despite the inflationary pressures, the company managed to implement strategic price adjustments, maintaining a robust gross profit margin close to the previous year’s figures. Balai ni Fruitas’s growth strategy, particularly during the pandemic, involved the acquisition of Balai Pandesal and the rollout of community-focused stores, proving to be highly effective.
