During the 8th annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, BDO Unibank garnered gold, silver, and bronze awards for its innovations in business operations and effective communications.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is highly regarded as the world’s premier business awards, being the only award-giving body that recognizes workplace innovation across 29 countries within the Asia-Pacific region.

The Wayfinder, BDO’s employee newsletter, received a Gold Award for Innovation in House Organizations and Publications under the Annual Report Awards & Other Publication Categories. It chronicles the true-to-life struggles and successes of employees, which was praised as an effective tool to strengthen the firm’s culture of solidarity, empathy, and cooperation.

BDO also received two Silver Stevie Awards for The Most Valuable Corporate Response under the COVID-19 Response Categories and Innovation in the Use of Celebrities or Public Figures under the Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Public Relations Categories.

Additionally, the organization also secured two Bronze Stevie Awards for Innovation in the Use of Video under Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Public Relations Categories and Innovation in Public Relations Videos under the Videos Categories.

“The pandemic made communications more important than ever. We had to modify our communication approach to our public by using digital communications channels more frequently, while keeping in mind our primary objective—that is, to impart factual information to our readers,” explained BDO SAVP and Corporate Communications Head Honey Reyes.

There were over 900 nominations for this year’s Stevie Awards throughout the Asia-Pacific region. “Organizations that won this year have demonstrated that they have continued to innovate and succeed despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and we applaud them for their perseverance and creativity,” said Maggie Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards.
