The Governor’s Drive Interchange segment of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is now 25% complete, according to operator MPCALA Holdings Inc. The 7.8-kilometer stretch, which will connect the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor’s Drive, is expected to open by the first quarter of 2025. Once operational, it will become the longest segment of CALAX.
This vital infrastructure aims to alleviate traffic congestion on major roads in Cavite, particularly Aguinaldo Highway, and contribute to economic growth in the region. Despite construction challenges from recent typhoons, MPCALA remains on schedule.
Two additional segments of CALAX, the Open Canal Interchange and Kawit Interchange, are also under construction, with expected completion by the third quarter of 2025. Upon full completion, CALAX will connect to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), eventually serving over 95,000 motorists daily.
