CIAC Reveals Plans for Taylor Swift-Ready Stadium Inspired by San Diego Sports Arena

The Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) has clarified the inspiration behind its viral presentation depicting plans for a Taylor Swift concert-ready entertainment complex in Pampanga by 2028. Netizens noted similarities between the artistic renderings and the new sports arena in San Diego, California.

In a statement, CIAC expressed pride in drawing inspiration from the San Diego Sports Arena, as presented during the second Clark Technical Working Group (TWG) on enhancing the utilization of Clark International Airport (CRK).

“There was no copyright infringement intended,” CIAC stated. “Our goal was to present the benchmarks of our project development process to national leaders and private sector stakeholders.”

Major Project Details

CIAC’s ambitious plan involves a 40-hectare entertainment complex estimated to cost P32 billion, with completion targeted for 2028. The centerpiece of this complex is the Clark World Convention and Events Hub, designed to host large-scale events, including concerts by global stars like Taylor Swift and Coldplay.

“The excitement around building a world-class arena in Clark highlights the potential of the tourism and MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) industries to boost national economies,” CIAC added.

Official Statements

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco attended a related meeting in Clark but distanced herself from the CIAC presentation. “CIAC President Arrey Perez’s future plans and presentation for a concert venue are his alone. Any attribution to me is false,” Frasco clarified on Facebook.

CIAC reiterated that the Department of Tourism had no involvement in developing the viral presentation. “We are grateful for their support and creative freedom in presenting our vision for the performance arena,” CIAC stated.

Broader Vision for Clark

Beyond the entertainment complex, CIAC has ambitious plans to transform Clark into a master-planned mixed-use development, including the Clark National Food Hub to address food security in the agriculture sector.

“CIAC’s projects aim to ensure a thriving ecosystem for businesses and communities in Clark,” the corporation noted. “We hope the excitement for our vision, including the viral Taylor Swift slide, will help us build Clark as our Airport City.”
