Clark International Airport (CRK)’s newest passenger terminal could boost more tourist arrivals and the tourism sector, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT). DOT also commented with the new terminal’s opening, even more carriers will be added to CRK’s operations. The newest passenger terminal started receiving tourists on May 2, serving both international and domestic flights.

Carriers such as Jetstar, Scoot, Qatar Airways, AirAsia, and Emirates will be using the new terminal for destinations to Singapore, Doha, and Dubai. Two of the largest low-cost airlines from South Korea, Jeju Air, and Jin Air have also been added to the list of carriers operating direct flights from CRK. According to DOT, starting May 16, Jeju Air will be operating their Incheon – Clark – Incheon route every Thursday and Sunday, while Jin Air will be operating the same route on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific will also be operating flights from Clark’s new terminal, with Cebu Pacific transferring all its Clark operations to the terminal starting May 2.

“Clark is one of the destinations included in the recently concluded World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit. More than just a freeport zone, clearly, this place is an emerging tourism hub that has great potential to bring huge gains for the tourism industry,” tourism secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat says. Romulo-Puyat also says that apart from Clark’s new airport, the entire province itself can offer tourism activities.

Clark International Airport (CRK)’s newest airport terminal can accommodate 8.2 million passengers and helps in decongesting Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
