Filipino tycoon Dennis Uy’s Converge ICT Solutions has now announced doubling its internet speed for its FiberX Plan 1500 subscribers at no additional cost. Starting June, the broadband provider will permanently upgrade existing and new Plan 1500 customers of up to 100 Mbps, from originally 50 Mbps.
Converge says its consumers will now be able to double their productivity with an increased internet speed. The internet provider has already laid down 500,000 kilometers of its total fiber assets and is set to achieve its goals of covering more than half of the Philippines’ homes by the year 2025.
Converge’s chief operations officer Jesus Romero says, “We at Converge know how essential it is to have a fast and consistent internet connection for work, school, and even personal use. We’ve expanded our network and equipped it with the latest technology, to ensure Filipinos get the quality internet connection they deserve,” Romero also adds, “Today, we are pleased to announce that we are doubling the speed of our base plan for existing and potential subscribers. With this, we will be able to give our kababayans a better experience for everyday productivity.”
Uy’s company has also recently announced slightly higher capital expenditure for 2022 compared to the previous year’s P25 billion spending plan. As of October 2021, Converge has been able to deploy around 5.5 million ports from Luzon to Mindanao and has established its presence in 440 different municipalities and cities across the Philippines.
