The Department of Transportation (DOTr) aims to complete the distribution of fuel subsidies to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators by the second quarter of 2025.
According to Transportation Undersecretary Jesus Ferdinand Ortega, the one-time cash grant will also extend to tricycle drivers and delivery riders to help offset rising fuel costs.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will oversee the distribution for PUVs, while the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will manage assistance for tricycle drivers, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will handle subsidies for delivery riders.
Ortega assured that the rollout is already ongoing, with completion expected by Q2 once all beneficiary account details are verified.
A total of 1,026,306 beneficiaries will receive financial aid, including:
✅ 286,306 PUV drivers and operators
✅ 600,000 tricycle drivers
✅ 140,000 delivery service riders
💰 Subsidy Amounts Per Sector:
The announcement comes as gasoline prices increased by ₱0.70 per liter, while diesel and kerosene dropped by ₱1.15 and ₱0.90, respectively.
