Former professional basketball player Dwyane Wade has set his eyes on NFTs, noting that he has “always taken chances” when it comes to business ventures. “I’ve always been a guy that’s done things a little different than everybody,” added the retired three-time NBA champion.

Wade has partnered with Budweiser Zero — where he also serves as the co-founder — to release his own set of limited-edition tokens in an effort to reach out to fans within the metaverse. The collection, titled “Budverse Legends: Dwyane Wade x Budweiser Zero Edition” is expected to drop later this month with each NFT starting at $180.

“This is an opportunity to be a part of a young brand that is trying to build a fan base and provide great experiences,” explained Wade, furthering that the collection will open up another option for fans “to do something unique and something cool.” The NFTs will come out in three editions, namely the Core NFT, Hero NFT, and Legendary NFT.

Tokens under the Core NFT will have unlimited quantity where users will be able to purchase a Core Dwyane Wade Decentraland Jersey. Hero NFTs, on the other hand, will only consist of 99 Budweiser Zero x Dwyane Wade tokens signed by the former NBA player himself. Holders of this NFT will also have a chance to receive limited-edition apparel and merchandise like the Hero Dwyane Wade Decentraland Jersey. Finally, the Legendary NFT — of which there will only be one — will grant the holder a lifetime in-real-life experience with Dwyane Wade alongside a Legendary Dwyane Wade Decetneraland Jersey.

Aside from this upcoming project, Wade already has a number of business ventures under his name including his own wine company called Wade Cellars, as well as a company that offers baby products called Proudly which he co-founded with his wife Gabrielle Union. Additionally, Wade also has a stake in the media company Players TV, a small stake in the Utah Jazz NBA team, and he serves as the co-owner of Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake.
