Philippine liquor connoisseurs and enthusiasts can now appreciate Spanish brandy in a museum built at the Iloilo Business Park. The country’s largest liquor company, Emperador Inc. has established a Brandy Museum to honor the drink that made them the biggest brandy manufacturer in the world.

“Spanish brandy is one of those few drinks that many Filipinos can easily associate with some of their happiest, most treasured memories. This is why we are very excited to bring the first and currently the only Brandy Museum in the country, which we believe will give our guests a newfound appreciation for one of our most beloved liquors,” says Kendrick Tan, executive director, Emperador, Inc.

The museum aims to give visitors an immersive learning experience as it features books, letters, traditional tools, soil samples, and rare bottles for guests to observe and study. Furthermore, the museum’s design gives it a relaxed mood with exposed oak, soft atmospheric lighting, and dark interiors that makes it as if you were inside an old Spanish bodega.

Guests may also choose to go on an audio-visual tour with presentations showcasing the Bodegas Fundador vineyard and bodegas of Jerez, Spain. These presentations will allow visitors to learn about the process of creating oak barrels and harvesting and cultivating grapes.

For those looking for a more intoxicating experience, the museum also includes Brandy Appreciation classes and a Brandy Appreciation Hall where special bottles can be purchased.

The exhibit also showcases the respective history behind each brandy brand under Emperador, Inc., namely: Fundador, Tres Cepas, Terry Centenario, Garvey, Soto, and Espléndido.

The museum will be open daily from 10 am – 7 pm and is located at the Festive Walk Parade beside the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA). While the entrance is free, guests must be aware of liquor bans due to the country being on Alert Level 3. As such the selling and serving of liquor and liquor-infused drinks are only available until 6 pm.
