Facebook to Replace Instagram Messaging with Facebook Messenger

IMG SOURCE: Search Engine Journal

Facebook announced it will begin replacing the direct messaging service of Instagram with a version of the Facebook messenger, tying together the messaging services of both apps.

This would allow users to message and hold video calls with contacts across both apps without needing to install them separately.

This move will also introduce custom emojis and themes and features such as disappearing messages.

Stan Chudnovsky, Messenger chief, said “The goal of this exercise is to get to the point where we build something once and then it works across, so we don’t have to repeat the same thing multiple times,”

Facebook aims to integrate all 3 messaging platforms, Messenger, Instagram, and Whatsapp, along with end-to-end encryption services.
