The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has issued a cease and desist order (CDO) to Fontana Development Corporation (FDC) and Fontana Resort and Country Club, Inc. (FRCCI), effectively shutting down their operations indefinitely due to numerous alleged violations.
In a statement posted on Facebook, CDC outlined the reasons for the closure:
The order covers all operations within the 52-hectare property, including areas managed by Korea Country Club, Inc. (KCCI).
“CDC issued the CDO due to the numerous violations committed by FDC,” the agency said, adding that operations must cease immediately until the entities comply with their contractual obligations.
The shutdown follows a series of controversies involving Fontana:
Fontana has long been a prominent leisure and recreation facility in the Clark Freeport Zone. However, repeated lapses in compliance have strained its relationship with CDC, culminating in the latest closure order.
GMA News Online is awaiting a statement from Fontana Development Corporation and Fontana Resort and Country Club, Inc.
