Fuel Price Rollback: Gasoline, Kerosene Down by Over ₱3/L, Diesel by ₱2.90 Starting Tuesday

Motorists can expect relief at the pump this week as fuel companies announced major price rollbacks effective Tuesday, April 15. This marks the second consecutive week of fuel price reductions.

Chevron (Caltex), Seaoil, and Shell confirmed price cuts of ₱3.60 per liter for gasoline, ₱2.90 for diesel, and ₱3.30 for kerosene. Cleanfuel will apply the same rollback for gasoline and diesel, excluding kerosene, which it does not sell.

These new prices will take effect at 6:00 a.m. for most fuel firms, while Cleanfuel will implement changes starting at 8:01 a.m. the same day.

The Department of Energy (DOE) had forecasted this “big-time” rollback, citing several global factors: rising tensions between China and the U.S., reduced oil shipments from Saudi Arabia to Asia in May, and increased OPEC production.

This follows last week’s minimal rollback of ₱0.10 for gasoline and ₱0.50 for kerosene, with diesel prices unchanged.

As of April 8, 2025, the year-to-date fuel price changes reflect a net increase of ₱4.55 per liter for gasoline, ₱4.45 for diesel, and ₱0.40 for kerosene.
