Fuel Prices Roll Back Slightly on April 8; Diesel Unchanged

MANILA – After two consecutive weeks of price hikes, motorists will see a slight rollback in fuel prices starting Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

According to announcements by Seaoil and Shell, gasoline prices will drop by ₱0.10 per liter, while kerosene will go down by ₱0.50 per liter. Diesel prices will remain unchanged.

Cleanfuel will implement the same gasoline price cut but does not sell kerosene. Its price change takes effect at 8:01 a.m., while other firms will adjust prices starting 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

These minor rollbacks follow a combined increase of ₱2.50/liter for gasoline and ₱1.60/liter for diesel and kerosene over the last two weeks. Year-to-date, fuel prices have risen by ₱4.65/liter for gasoline, ₱4.45/liter for diesel, and ₱0.90/liter for kerosene.

The price movement reflects global concerns over reduced demand due to trade tensions sparked by new US tariffs under President Donald Trump, alongside seasonal refinery slowdowns in China.
