Motorists will face higher fuel costs this week as oil companies announced price increases effective Tuesday, October 29. Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex) and Shell Pilipinas Corp. will raise prices by P0.20 per liter for gasoline, P0.50 for diesel, and P0.50 for kerosene. Cleanfuel will apply the same changes, excluding kerosene, which it does not offer.
The increase follows a price rollback last week, with the Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) citing various global factors, including reduced demand in China and the U.S. alongside rising diesel demand in South Korea. Last week’s rollback saw decreases of P0.50 for gasoline, P0.70 for diesel, and P0.85 for kerosene.
According to DOE data, year-to-date net adjustments as of October 15 include an increase of P9.05 per liter for gasoline, P6.75 for diesel, and a decrease of P2.75 for kerosene.
