Gov’t Taps 47 Hectares in Clark for P2-B Food Hub to Boost Agri Supply Chain

The government has designated 47 hectares of land under the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) for a major food hub project aimed at centralizing the storage, processing, and distribution of agricultural goods.

According to the Department of Agriculture (DA), the initial development will focus on a 12-hectare area, requiring about ₱2 billion in funding. While full access to the entire 47 hectares remains a challenge, Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. noted that the 12-hectare portion is sufficient to launch the project, which is expected to be operational within 18 months from the start of construction.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon called the Clark food hub a potential “game-changer” for the agricultural and food logistics sectors, citing its proximity to the Subic Seaport and the Subic-Clark Expressway as key advantages.

The DA also confirmed plans to establish similar hubs nationwide to help stabilize food supply and prices, boost farm productivity, improve farmers’ incomes, and attract more investments into the agri-sector.
