On Thursday, the cement company Holcim Philippines disclosed its plans of investing ₱210 million to significantly reduce the fuel consumption of its plants located in Bacnotan, La Union and Lugait, Misamis Oriental.
“More efficient operations will help us deliver better financial results and improve our environmental footprint. We look to continue implementing these improvements to meet our objectives of delivering greater value to our shareholders and business partners while becoming better stewards of the environment,” explained Holcim president and CEO Horia Adrian.
The construction company’s projects in La Union and Misamis Oriental are projected to be finished by the first quarter of 2022 and end-October 2021, respectively.
Holcim Philippines has likewise launched projects in January to improve the efficiency of its Norzagaray, Bulacan cement plant in converting qualified waste materials to alternative fuels. These have been reported to amount to around ₱121.5 million.
