Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) has introduced a new plug-in hybrid version of its popular midsize crossover SUV, the Santa Fe. This latest model promises enhanced driving comfort and performance thanks to its advanced electric motor technology.
The all-new plug-in Santa Fe is available in two variants:
Hyundai highlights that the Santa Fe hybrid features e-Motion Drive technology, which controls vibration for smooth acceleration and improved handling for stable cornering and turning. The vehicle also boasts e-DTVC (Electronic-Driven Torque Vectoring Control), which combines brakes and motors to optimize torque vectoring during sharp turns, enhancing both handling performance and driving safety. The e-Handling feature ensures maximum grip during urgent steering, reducing vehicle slip.
The Santa Fe hybrid includes an intelligent system that determines if the vehicle is stuck in traffic by using GPS navigation data and driving conditions. The Smart Regenerative Braking system autonomously adjusts the regenerative braking level based on traffic conditions, providing a more efficient driving experience.
Inside, the Santa Fe hybrid is equipped with an infotainment system that displays information about hybrid driving, such as electric motor usage and fuel efficiency. Hyundai describes the vehicle as offering “the best of both worlds: electric when you want it, petrol when you need it,” emphasizing the convenience of its plug-in charging port.
The introduction of the Santa Fe hybrid signifies Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, providing drivers with a versatile and efficient driving option.
