Ride-hailing company inDrive is optimistic about its expansion in the Philippines, targeting to onboard 16,000 drivers by the end of 2024. This ambitious goal comes after the company saw substantial growth in its driver base and user activity following the resumption of its operations in the country.
At a press conference in Quezon City, inDrive’s Marketing Director for Asia-Pacific, Natalia Makarenko, highlighted the rapid growth of the company’s fleet, which expanded to over 8,000 driver-partners from just a few hundred since relaunching in June. The relaunch followed a five-month suspension imposed by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) due to fare matrix violations.
“We are not just doubling; we are growing with a 90% growth rate,” Makarenko said, emphasizing the company’s focus on providing income opportunities for drivers.
Since its relaunch, inDrive has recorded a 75% increase in rides, an 86% rise in active users, and a 96% growth in drivers. With these figures, Mohamed Khalil, Regional Driver Acquisition and Activation Team lead, expressed confidence in reaching the 16,000 driver target by year-end.
To support this growth, inDrive plans to expand into key areas such as Cebu, Davao, and Pampanga. The company currently operates in six cities: Metro Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo, Butuan, and Cagayan de Oro.
During the event, inDrive launched its “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” campaign, in collaboration with the transport group Laban TNVS. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging mobility solutions to improve lives through innovative and community-driven approaches.
inDrive is also offering a 0% commission rate for its first six months of operation to attract more drivers, with plans to implement a modest 10% commission rate thereafter.
Makarenko reiterated inDrive’s dedication to growth and service, stating, “We aim to achieve this by continuously driving change through innovative mobility solutions and community-driven initiatives that resonate with the needs of the people we serve.”
